Medical-Surgical LPN Job Requirements

• Current and valid LPN/LVN license
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, preferably in a medical-surgical or acute care setting
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
• Strong patient assessment, communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work scheduled 12-hour day shifts and meet travel contract requirements

Medical-Surgical LPN Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical hospital setting
• Assess patient conditions, monitor changes, and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate members of the healthcare team
• Administer medications and treatments within the LPN/LVN scope of practice and according to established policies
• Assist with activities of daily living, patient comfort, mobility, and safety
• Document patient assessments, nursing interventions, and responses accurately in the medical record
• Collaborate with registered nurses, providers, and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families regarding care needs, treatments, and discharge instructions
