Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Westwood, New Jersey

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,150–$2,260
• Assignment Dates: October 20, 2026 – January 19, 2027
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 10-hour day shifts
• Shift Hours: 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Healthcare Setting: Six-room Operating Room and perioperative suite
• Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Typical Surgical Volume: Approximately 15–18 daily cases with about five visits per day
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic
• Travel Eligibility: Applicants residing within 50 miles may not be eligible for this assignment

Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey or a valid compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience
• Strong orthopedic Operating Room experience required
• Recent experience circulating orthopedic, spine, robotic, and general surgery cases
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Epic charting experience required
• Knowledge of surgical safety practices, specimen handling, infection prevention, blood product administration, and universal protocol
• Ability to support a wide range of surgical procedures in a fast-paced perioperative environment

Travel OR Nurse Responsibilities

• Circulate surgical procedures across orthopedic, spine, robotic, general, thoracic, gynecologic, urologic, and other specialties
• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, supplies, and surgical instruments for scheduled procedures
• Provide safe, efficient perioperative nursing care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Support procedures including joint replacement, fracture repair, spinal fusion, laminectomy, thoracotomy, lung resection, laparoscopic surgery, and robotic cases
• Demonstrate familiarity with surgical systems and equipment, including da Vinci, Mako, Hana tables, cell savers, electrosurgical units, and fiber-optic equipment
• Complete patient identification, surgical time-outs, counts, specimen labeling, documentation, and other perioperative safety protocols
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and the broader perioperative team to promote excellent patient outcomes
• Provide weekend or on-call coverage when scheduled
