Travel Labor & Delivery RN Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a compact state
• At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Professional nursing experience in a Level II Labor & Delivery setting
• Experience attending deliveries and providing newborn resuscitation support
• Experience providing couplet care to parents and newborns
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Epic electronic health record documentation experience preferred
• Ability to work scheduled 12-hour night shifts throughout the travel assignment

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, postpartum patients, and newborns
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and promptly communicate changes to the care team
• Assist with and attend deliveries according to Labor & Delivery unit protocols
• Support newborn stabilization and resuscitation efforts when needed
• Deliver safe, compassionate couplet care for parents and newborns
• Administer medications, perform nursing assessments, and document patient care accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote positive maternal and newborn outcomes
