Travel Nursing Job Details

• Position: Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Location: Bel Air, Maryland
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Contract Length: 20 weeks, ending March 29, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,850–$1,950
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts
• Shift Hours: Approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m., with shift end around 7:30 a.m.
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Schedule: Every third weekend
• Call: None
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Charting System: Epic
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Floating: Required within specialty and acuity level
• Travelers: First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply

ICU Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse license at the time of submission
• At least 2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Demonstrated competency caring for critically ill adult and geriatric patients
• Ability to work night shifts, weekend rotations, and float within the nurse’s scope of practice and assigned acuity
• Annual influenza vaccination required; exemptions are not available

Travel ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
• Monitor and manage patients experiencing stroke, renal failure requiring continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), myocardial infarction requiring intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) support, respiratory failure, pneumonia, diabetic ketoacidosis, post-cardiac-arrest conditions, and surgical critical illness
• Care for mechanically ventilated patients and manage continuous IV sedation and emergency medications
• Perform central-line, PICC-line, chest-tube, and blood-product care according to clinical standards
• Interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Assist with CRRT or continuous veno-venous hemodialysis (CVVHD), intra-aortic balloon pump care, hypothermia protocols, and other advanced critical-care therapies
• Initiate and maintain intravenous access and support infection-prevention practices
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rehabilitation, rapid-response teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary partners while documenting care accurately in Epic
