• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: As needed
• Holiday Requirement: As needed, with an expectation to assist when scheduled
• On-Call Requirement: None expected
• Floating: As needed, though uncommon
• Orientation: Initial day-shift orientation followed by unit-based training

Emergency Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• Experience in a large or high-volume emergency department preferred
• First-time travelers and new graduates are not eligible for this travel nursing opportunity
• Active Kansas Registered Nurse license or compact nursing license
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet weekend and holiday scheduling needs as assigned
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and emergency response skills

Travel ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions
• Rapidly assess patients, identify clinical priorities, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions
• Monitor patient status and promptly communicate changes to physicians and the interdisciplinary care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with clinical standards and provider orders
• Support emergency procedures, stabilization efforts, and patient transitions to the appropriate level of care
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, responses to treatment, and discharge instructions
• Educate patients and families while providing compassionate care in a high-acuity emergency department
• Collaborate with colleagues during orientation, training, and occasional floating assignments
