PACU Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Contract – Mishawaka, Indiana

PACU Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 20, 2026
• End Date: December 19, 2026
• Schedule: Approximately 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, approximately 9:00 AM–9:30 PM
• Call Requirement: Approximately four weeknight call shifts per month, one weekend day-call shift monthly, one weekend night-call shift every six weeks, holiday-related call coverage, and one holiday call shift
• Healthcare Setting: On-site Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Location: Mishawaka, Indiana, in the South Bend area

PACU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Indiana
• At least 1 year of recent PACU or post-anesthesia nursing experience
• Ability to provide safe, effective care during the immediate postoperative recovery period
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills
• Willingness to participate in scheduled call coverage
• Successful completion of required facility orientation, credentialing, and competency verification

PACU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Assess and closely monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in airway, breathing, circulation, pain, level of consciousness, and vital signs
• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and established protocols
• Manage postoperative pain, nausea, and other post-anesthesia recovery needs
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes
• Communicate effectively with anesthesia providers, surgeons, operating room staff, inpatient teams, patients, and families
• Determine patient readiness for transfer or discharge based on established recovery criteria
• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care during scheduled shifts, call coverage, and holiday assignments
