Travel Nursing Job Details

• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Location: Cookeville, Tennessee
• Anticipated Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Assignment End Date: February 8, 2027
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts
• Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250
• Patient Population: Adults
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 4:1 on days and 5:1 on nights
• Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Charting: Paragon
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling; block scheduling may be accommodated

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Tennessee RN license or compact RN license
• At least 2 years of registered nursing experience
• Recent cardiac stepdown, neuro stepdown, or comparable acute-care nursing experience
• Cardiac nursing experience required; experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias strongly preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend
• Must reside outside the local 50-mile radius

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult cardiac and neuro stepdown patients
• Monitor patients for changes in cardiac and neurological status and promptly escalate concerns
• Interpret dysrhythmias and support the management of patients with complex cardiac conditions
• Care for patients before and after cardiac catheterization, transesophageal echocardiography, electrophysiology studies, pacemaker procedures, and vascular laboratory procedures
• Manage patients admitted from the emergency department, observation services, and cardiac outpatient procedures
• Administer medications, complete comprehensive assessments, document care accurately, and coordinate individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with providers, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Promote patient safety, effective communication, and continuity of care throughout each shift
