Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Middletown, Connecticut
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 22, 2026
• Nursing Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and designated holidays required
• Healthcare Setting: 26-bed medical-surgical unit serving a broad range of general medical patients
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic
• Staffing Support: Nurse aides, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, hospitalist coverage, and IV support available

Med/Surg Tele RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Connecticut
• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Recent Epic documentation experience required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current ACLS and NIHSS certifications
• Ability to work three 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and required holidays
• Availability to work up to 48 hours when needed
• Must be comfortable working without a blocked schedule and with limited time-off requests during the assignment
• Must live more than 50 miles from the assignment location in accordance with travel assignment requirements

Medical-Surgical Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients with a variety of diagnoses and acuity levels
• Complete focused and comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient progress
• Administer medications and treatments, monitor responses, and promptly communicate changes in patient condition
• Use Epic to maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation
• Collaborate with providers, nurse aides, respiratory therapists, pharmacy staff, IV support, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Support patient education, discharge planning, safety initiatives, and continuity of care
• Respond appropriately to changes in patient status and escalate concerns according to clinical protocols
• Promote a positive patient experience while maintaining professional nursing standards during overnight shifts
