Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
• Contract Length: 8 weeks
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Schedule: Day shifts, Monday through Friday
• Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts, approximately 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
• Shifts per Week: 5
• Call Requirement: Periodic weekend call, approximately every fifth or sixth weekend, plus one weekday call
• Department: Operating Room and perioperative services
• OR Environment: 5 operating rooms with an average daily census of approximately 12 patients
• Patient Population: Infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients

Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• At least 3 years of recent Operating Room Registered Nurse experience required
• Registered Nurse license in hand or a compact RN license eligible for practice in Kansas
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Recent experience circulating in orthopedic, general, and obstetric procedures, including total joint replacement and C-sections
• Experience with electronic charting systems; no specific platform required
• Strong knowledge of surgical safety, infection prevention, specimen handling, universal protocol, fire safety, laser safety, and radiation safety
• Ability to administer blood and blood products and work with cell-saver equipment
• Willingness to complete required pre-start education modules
• Seasonal influenza vaccination is required

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Serve as the circulating RN for scheduled surgical procedures and maintain a safe, efficient operating room environment
• Provide perioperative nursing support for orthopedic procedures, including total joint replacement, arthroscopy, fracture reduction, laminectomy/discectomy, spinal fusion, and other orthopedic and spine cases
• Circulate for general, thoracic, vascular, urologic, gynecologic, podiatric, and endoscopic procedures
• Support obstetric procedures, including labor and delivery C-sections
• Assist with procedures such as thoracotomy, lung and lobe resection, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, thyroidectomy, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and transurethral resection of the prostate
• Complete surgical time-outs, verify specimens, coordinate supplies and equipment, and promote adherence to sterile technique and surgical safety practices
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary support teams to deliver high-quality perioperative patient care
• Participate in scheduled call coverage and float to another unit when operationally necessary
