Opportunity:
Med Surg ICU RN
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
• 2 years recent ICU experience required
• Must complete interview with unit leaders
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score to continue
• Driver's license required at submittal to verify 50-mile radius requirement
• Navy blue scrub color required
• 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:1-2 ICU, 1:4-5 PCU, 1:5-6 Med Surg
• Care for adults and pediatric patients over 15 years old
• Manage patients with respiratory failure, ARDS, sepsis, stroke, renal failure, and post-surgical cases
• Required to titrate vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmic drips
• Work with various equipment including ventilators, CVPs, A-lines, Swan catheters, and ICP monitoring
• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips independently
• Floating required to all inpatient units except Maternity/NICU
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• Holiday requirement: 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove results in contract termination
• Fast-paced environment requiring critical thinking skills and positive attitude

This healthcare organization operates as the primary tertiary hospital for the system, featuring a 34-bed Medical Surgical ICU with Level 1 trauma designation. The facility provides comprehensive critical care services including neurosurgery with thrombectomy program, advanced cardiac support with balloon pumps and Impella devices, and continuous renal replacement therapy. The organization maintains a collaborative team environment with attending physicians and student providers, utilizing EPIC charting systems and state-of-the-art monitoring equipment to deliver high-quality patient care.
