6 WEST - Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12.5-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM on weekends
• Weekend day positions: Friday, Saturday and Sunday OR Saturday, Sunday and Monday
• 20-bed neuroscience unit with 1:5-6 patient ratios for floor patients
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certification must be in hand at time of submission
• ACLS certification preferred
• Recent Epic charting experience required
• Must have strong neuroscience nursing experience and proficiency with G-tubes
• Care for patients with neurosciences conditions, DBS (Deep Brain Stimulators), stroke, seizures, surgical/post-op spines, and neurological disorders
• Telemetry monitoring available with monitor techs reading strips - RNs document verification of strip readings in Epic
• Medication titration performed by physician orders in step-down setting with possible protocols for specific drips
• Common drips include Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, dopamine, Nipride, Ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, and Insulin
• May float to other units including 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E as needed
• Dress code requires any combination of white and royal blue scrubs
• One shift unit orientation provided
• Holiday rotation participation required
• Cancellation policy allows up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Background check disclosures required at time of submission
