Opportunity:

RN - Telemetry

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, scheduled based on shifts most in need
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday rotation required
• No on-call or standby requirement for agency staff
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 4-5 patients during day shifts and 5-6 patients during night shifts
• 18-bed Telemetry unit providing acute care
• Common diagnoses include stroke, CHF, ACS, CAD, arrhythmias, and post heart catheterization patients
• Must have drip experience; common titratable medications include set Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, and titrate Heparin
• RNs are responsible for signing off on telemetry strips; monitor tech handles central telemetry
• Equipment used includes BiPAP and High Flow
• Floating may be required to ICU, Med-Surg, or ER within scope of practice, including ER boarders
• Charge Nurse carries a patient assignment; nursing supervisor does not
• Nurse aides available on unit with acuity-based ratio of 2 CNAs
• Charting system is MEDITECH; experience with MEDITECH is a plus
• Department-specific orientation consists of 2 12-hour shifts
• Scrubs may be any color
• 2+ years of recent Telemetry experience required; Cath Lab post recovery (femoral/radial) and stroke care experience highly preferred
• Phlebotomy experience is a plus
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Illinois nursing license required
• BSN not required
