Job Details:

• Night shift position with every other weekend requirement
• First to float, with floating requirements to postpartum as needed
• 3-day unit orientation provided for travelers
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
• CERNER experience required for charting and EFM system
• Work in a Level 3 high-risk facility with 17 L&D beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, 4 triage beds, and 16 postpartum beds
• Follow AWHONN guidelines: 2:1 ratio for normal laboring moms, 1:1 for high-risk labors, 4:1 couplet care, and 2:1-4:1 antepartum depending on acuity
• Must be independent and confident with vaginal exams, internal monitor placement, high-risk laboring/delivery patients, and antepartum patients
• Circulate and recover own C-section patients
• Required to titrate drips including Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, Insulin, and Heparin
• Required to read fetal monitor strips independently as no tele techs are on unit
• Navy blue scrubs required; light blue OR scrubs available for OR use
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM), BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a Level 3 high-risk Labor and Delivery unit delivering approximately 250 births per month. The unit is supported by OB/Neonatologists and Anesthesia available in-house 24/7, along with Certified Surgical Techs and Secretaries as ancillary staff. The facility utilizes a team-based scheduling system and provides comprehensive support services including ICU access for patients requiring advanced respiratory care.
