Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Weekend day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Holidays scheduled as needed
• Acute care setting
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 for stepdown and 1:5 or 1:6 for floor assignments
• Travelers will be the first pulled off the unit if needed, with rotational pull to floor assignment approximately 1 out of every 3 shifts
• Required to titrate drips including heparin, insulin, nitro, Cardizem, nicardipine, Lasix, amiodarone, and dobutamine
• Work with respiratory therapy equipment including nasal cannula, CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, and trach to vent
• Telemetry monitoring supported by tele techs using Philips monitoring system
• Charting performed in EPIC
• Self-scheduling in Kronos with block scheduling generally permitted
• Weekend requirement: 3-4 Saturday/Sunday shifts, 2 Fridays, and 2 Mondays per 4-week schedule period
• Holiday requirement: one holiday eve and one holiday day per schedule period
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment or 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Royal blue scrubs required
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Cardiac experience preferred
• Any license hits must be disclosed at time of submission

Facility:

This acute care facility features a 32-bed unit comprising 22 stepdown beds and 10 floor beds, dedicated to serving cardiology, heart failure, cardiac surgery, and medical-surgical patients. The unit maintains dedicated charge nurses and three house supervisors in the building at all times, ensuring strong leadership and support for nursing staff. A dedicated respiratory therapist is available on the floor, and telemetry technicians monitor and record strips using a Philips monitoring system to support comprehensive patient care.
