Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience required with no exceptions
• Experience must include either neuro or cardiovascular (CV)
• UNA Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance of position with a maximum of 2 attempts
• Pass/fail Simulation Lab on Day 1 of orientation
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2 and 1:1
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• RNs required to titrate drips including Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Precedex, Morphine, Dilaudid, Ketamine, Rocuronium, Levophed, Vasopressin, Cardene, Labetalol, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin, and Insulin
• RNs required to interpret their own cardiac monitor strips using GE monitors
• Respiratory therapy equipment includes Draeger, Hamilton, Puritan Bennett 840, V60s BiPap, and Airvo ventilators
• Intensivist and respiratory therapy available in-house 24/7
• Self-scheduling with manager balancing shifts based on unit needs
• 3 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule; night shift weekends are Friday-Saturday, day shift weekends are Saturday-Sunday
• May have 1 holiday off per assignment
• No additional call or standby shifts required; however, may be low-censused up to 3 times per contract depending on unit needs
• Float to telemetry with a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio as needed; may also float to sister ICU units
• Every other weekend (EOW) or up to 3 weekends per month if unit is busy
• First to float - could float to sister facility
• Scrub color: Navy
• Unit-specific orientation: 1-2 days
• Charting system: Cerner
• Trauma Level 1 facility
• Acute care setting

Facility:

This facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center offering a Surgical ICU focused on trauma, neuro, and specialty surgical cases, as well as a Medical Cardiac ICU and overflow unit. The ICUs are equipped to handle high-acuity patients including trauma, neurological, cardiovascular, and complex surgical cases. The facility features 24/7 intensivist and respiratory therapy coverage, advanced ventilator equipment, and a strong interdisciplinary care team. Sister units include a 36-bed Medical Cardiac ICU and a 12-bed overflow ICU, with expectations to float between all three units as needed.
