Job Details:
• 12-hour shifts with variable scheduling
• Weekend requirement of 3 weekends (Friday–Sunday) per 4-week schedule; may be scheduled for 1, 2, or all 3 days of the weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required; float to Pediatric ED if necessary
• Patient ratios: Days 1:4–6, Nights 1:4–7; ratios may be higher in low acuity areas and can reach up to 1:8 during high volume or holidays
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA preferred), PALS, TNCC, NIH
• ENPC preferred
• Michigan nursing license must be active; compact license not accepted
• Required skills include: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration, blood product administration, IV vasopressors, arterial line management, central line care/management, BiPAP/CPAP management, triage, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Care for patients across all age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Department includes 4 resuscitation rooms, 62 private patient rooms (48 adult, 14 pediatric)
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, social services, and radiology
• Orientation is 36 hours; module education must be completed before working on the floor
• All RTO must be submitted at time of submission; no RTO approved for the month of July
Facility:
This facility is a Level I Trauma Center and serves as a center of excellence for bariatric, stroke, and cardiac care, including a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department. The emergency department features a 5-level triage system and advanced nursing guidelines to expedite patient care, with on-site ER case management RNs, SANE RNs, and a ground Critical Care Transport team. The department supports a daily census of 250 patients and maintains comprehensive interdisciplinary resources to support high-acuity care.
