Opportunity:
RN - MS-Tele Float
Job Details:
• Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Schedule is created by leadership up to 6 weeks in advance; travelers are expected to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling
• All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting assignment
• Rare on-call or standby requirement for low census situations
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Float position covering Zone 4 (based around Garden City, KS) within a 60-mile radius - no home base facility
• Float facilities include: Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital (Ulysses, KS), St. Catherine-Dodge City (Dodge City, KS), and St. Catherine-Garden City (Garden City, KS)
• Schedule may follow a single facility weekly assignment or a Just-In-Time (JIT) format where facility is assigned 1-2 hours before shift start
• May be asked to float into any acuity level including ICU (low acuity holds within skillset), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
• Float pool covers multiple units including General MS-Tele, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 based on acuity
• Designated charge nurse on each unit who typically does not take a patient assignment
• Nurse aides available on unit
• Respiratory therapy equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP present on unit
• Required to titrate Heparin drips
• Charting system: EPIC
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses including cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, renal, urology post-surgical, general surgery, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, and general medicine
• Minimum 2 years of MS-Tele experience within the last 3 years required
• Prior neuro experience preferred
• Alaris and EPIC experience preferred
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Must be in state during the week of orientation even if first-day modules are completed remotely
• Valid driver's license must be submitted; traveler must reside within or obtain housing feasible for the full 60-mile float zone

The facilities offer a broad range of inpatient services across medical-surgical and telemetry units, with additional specialty support in areas such as cardiac care, neurology, oncology, orthopedics, and rehabilitation. The network is committed to delivering quality patient care across rural and community hospital settings, providing travelers with diverse clinical experiences across multiple care environments.
