Opportunity:

RN Med Surg

Job Details:

• Day shift position working 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
• Schedule of 3 days per week with 12-hour shifts
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Minimum of 5 years of Med Surg or Emergency Room experience required
• Previous traveler experience required
• Cerner EHR/EMR experience required
• Graduate of an accredited RN program required
• Current Colorado RN license or ability to obtain required licensure in good standing
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required or completion at next available course within 3 months
• Current PALS certification required or completion at next available course within 3 months
• Basic computer skills and electronic health record experience required
• Provide observation and inpatient care to patients assigned to the Med Surg Unit
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, nursing interventions, reassessments, and evaluation of care
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and report abnormal findings to the appropriate provider
• Administer medications, IV therapy, oxygen therapy, blood products, and other treatments accurately and timely
• Operate infusion pumps and document accurately in the electronic health record
• Complete required Cerner documentation in accordance with competencies, training, policies, and procedures
• Use Care Compass to organize and document assessments, care tasks, procedures, and patient education
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation and take appropriate action when needed
• Provide patient and family education related to disease process, treatment plans, medications, pain management, wound care, discharge planning, and follow-up care
• Transfer care using SBAR format when appropriate
• Follow infection prevention practices, universal precautions, and National Patient Safety Goals
• Collaborate with providers, staff, and other departments to support interdisciplinary patient care
• Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, service excellence, sound judgment, and adaptability in a fast-paced hospital environment
