Opportunity:

Stepdown/ Med Surg Overflow/ CV Exp/ Registered Nurse

Job Details:

• Day shift position
• 36 or 48-hour shift schedule available; schedule may change during interview process
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend coverage required as needed; weekend block schedule may be considered
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required; 3+ years preferred
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• Patient ratios of 1:4/5 for days, nights, and weekends; team nursing ratios of 1:12
• 48-bed cardiac stepdown unit with private beds equipped for bedside and telemetry monitoring
• Care for cardiac, pulmonary, and other disease processes requiring close observation
• Unit provides care for patients requiring more than standard med/surg but less than intensive care
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: Telemetry, IV Start
• EPIC experience preferred
• Active RN license in the state or compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines required
• If assignment includes end-of-year holidays, must be willing to work 2 of 3 holidays if all three fall within the assignment, or at least 1 of 2 holidays if only 2 fall within the assignment
• RNs may be floated between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility operates as a Level I Trauma Center, providing comprehensive emergency and specialized medical services to the community. The cardiac stepdown unit consists of 48 private beds designed and equipped for bedside and telemetry monitoring, supporting close observation of complex cardiac, pulmonary, and other disease processes. The facility maintains a multidisciplinary care model with robust interdisciplinary support services to ensure high-quality patient care and continuous process improvement.
