Opportunity:

Ultrasound Tech - Sonographer

Job Details:

• Evening shift schedule: Wednesday through Friday 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Saturday 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• On-call requirements: Fridays 11:30 PM to 6:30 AM; every fourth weekend Saturday 11:30 PM to 6:30 AM and Sunday 5:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• Weekend requirement: sometimes required
• Holiday requirement: rotating schedule
• Acute care setting
• Perform all general ultrasound exams, paracentesis/thoracentesis biopsies, and vascular exams
• Average of 8 to 16 scans/studies per day
• Department has 3 scanning rooms available
• May occasionally float to cover other areas though not standard practice
• Vascular experience is required
• Charting system: Cerner EMR and Philips EPIQ PACS equipment
• Radiologist is in-house; IV starts are not required
• Scrubs are not provided; radiation badge provided by employer
• Required certifications: ARDMS, BLS
• RDMS (Medical Sonography) required; RVT (Vascular Technology) preferred
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract; 3 shifts if contract is under 13 weeks

This acute care facility operates a radiology and sonography department equipped with Philips EPIQ ultrasound technology and supported by an on-site radiologist and radiology supervisor.
