Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts on variable days with every other weekend required
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, acuity permitting
• 2 shifts of unit/department specific orientation
• Must have at least 2 years of experience as an Emergency Department RN
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Scrub color of your choice; must be clean and well fitting
• Work in a Level 2 Trauma Center with Regional STEMI and certified Stroke Center capabilities
• Treat approximately 140-150 patients per day across 29 ED beds including 2 trauma bays and 10 Clinical Decision Unit beds
• Common diagnoses include trauma, STEMI, stroke, respiratory distress, abdominal pain, and orthopedic complaints
• Administer common drips including Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Heparin, nitroglycerin, nicardipine, Levophed, sedation medications, and Precedex
• Triage patients on a case-by-case basis if determined to be fully competent without additional training
• May float to the Clinical Decision Unit as needed
• Work alongside ED techs consisting of a mix of EMTs and paramedics, dedicated respiratory therapy staff, monitor techs, and EKG techs
• Philips brand monitors used for telemetry; monitor techs scheduled at all times
• ED staff draw labs with phlebotomy support available
• Imaging located adjacent to ED with transport staff available

This acute care facility operates a robust Emergency Department serving as a Level 2 Trauma Center, Regional STEMI Center, and certified Stroke Center with neurology and interventional radiology services available. The department features 29 ED beds including dedicated trauma bays, a Clinical Decision Unit for observation stays under 24 hours, a fast track area, a separate triage area, and a locked psychiatric care unit. The facility maintains 24/7 security coverage with quick response times and is supported by a central scheduling department that works to accommodate staff needs.
