Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts with multiple shift options: 6:15 AM - 6:45 PM, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, and 6:15 PM - 6:45 AM
• Every-other-weekend requirement covering both Saturday and Sunday for days and nights
• Holiday rotation schedule shared with permanent staff
• No floating outside of the emergency department
• 1-2 shifts of orientation with a preceptor
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Patient ratios: 1:4 in the Main ER, 1:5 in the 5-bed lower acuity area, and 1:4-6 in the Fast Track
• Charting system: EPIC
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• May perform aerosols for non-vented patients; respiratory therapy available in-house 24/7
• Work with Servo ventilators
• Royal blue scrubs required
• No false nails permitted
• Must have a valid, unexpired driver's license and reside within a 50-mile radius
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Preferred certifications: PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
• Common diagnoses include chest pain, respiratory failure, abdominal pain, closed head injuries, and occasional GSW; approximately 15% pediatric population
• Major traumas are stabilized and transferred to a Level 1 Trauma Center located 40-45 minutes away

Facility:

This 32-bed emergency department features a dedicated triage area and a separate Fast Track open from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. The facility operates as a Level 2 Trauma Center with an in-house pharmacy available 24/7 and an IV team available house-wide. The department is supported by charge nurses without patient assignments, ER techs at a ratio of 1:10-12, and a team of physicians and advanced practice providers. Known for its efficiency with an average patient stay of approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes, the department maintains a welcoming and traveler-friendly environment.
