Job Details:
• Work in a Level I Trauma Center, Stroke Center, Heart Center, and Pediatric Emergency Department
• Weekend requirement: 3 weekends (Friday–Sunday) per 4-week schedule; may be scheduled 1, 2, or all 3 days of the weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to Pediatric ED may be required
• Patient ratios: Days 1:4–6, Nights 1:4–7; ratios may reach 1:8 during high volume periods and holidays
• Treats patients across all age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Patient census of approximately 250 daily with 100 beds including 48 adult and 14 pediatric rooms
• Performs care across major trauma, neuro, cardiac, pediatrics, and high-risk OB cases
• Utilizes a 5-level triage system and advanced nursing guidelines
• Provides care involving continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation administration, blood product administration, IV vasopressors, and central line management
• Interprets and manages dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases
• Experience with EPIC charting system required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Triage experience preferred
• Continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• ENPC preferred
• Michigan state nursing license required; compact license not accepted
• 36 orientation hours required
• Pre-approved time off maximum: 5 days per contract; all RTO must be submitted at time of submission
• No RTO allowed on 10/31 or 9/4–9/7
Facility:
This facility is a comprehensive Level I Trauma Center and center of excellence for bariatric, stroke, and cardiac care. The emergency department features 62 private patient rooms, 4 resuscitation rooms, and serves both adult and pediatric populations. The department is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, on-site ER case management RNs, SANE RNs, and a ground critical care transport team.
