Opportunity:
RN - ER
Job Details:
• 12-hour shifts with variable start times including 7:30 AM-8:00 PM, 10:00 AM-10:30 PM, 11:30 AM-12:00 AM, 1:30 PM-2:00 AM, 3:30 PM-4:00 AM, and 7:30 PM-8:00 AM
• AM shift workers will be scheduled among AM start times and PM shift workers among PM start times - will never be scheduled a late shift followed by an early shift
• Minimum 4 Saturdays/Sundays in 6 weeks (2 weekends total) required
• Holiday shifts as needed
• No on-call or standby requirement
• May occasionally float to sister ER facilities
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Treat an average of 170 patients per day
• Care for both pediatric and adult patients including stroke, STEMI, trauma, abdominal pain, and high acuity ESI level I patients
• Administer common drips including Nicardipine, Propofol, Fentanyl, Norepi, Nitro, Versed, and Precedex
• Must read and interpret SpaceLabs cardiac monitors
• BSN required
• Minimum 2.5 years of emergency department experience required, preferably from a larger urban hospital setting
• Trauma experience preferred
• Charting system: EPIC
• Acute care setting
• Scrubs must be clean and professional in appearance - no specific color requirement
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS, ENPC
Facility:
This facility is a high-acuity emergency department featuring 45 beds including hallway beds, vertical rooms, a trauma bay, a resuscitation bay, and a cardiac room, as well as 4 dedicated psychiatric rooms with 1:1 sitters. The facility holds Trauma Level IV, STEMI Level I, and Stroke Level II designations and is actively pursuing a Level III Trauma designation. The department is supported by in-house security available 24/7, respiratory therapy managing all RT equipment and performing ABGs and breathing treatments, and a charge nurse on every shift who does not carry a patient assignment. X-ray and CT imaging are available within the department with overflow to the main radiology department.
