Opportunity:

RN - L&D

Job Details:

• 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend (EOW) requirement
• 4-week scheduling rotation
• 1 full weekend required every 3 weeks
• Holiday requirement includes 1 major and 1 minor holiday
• On-call requirement of 18 hours per 4-week schedule
• First to float when needed
• No floating requirements to other units
• Work in a Level II maternity unit caring for patients down to 32 weeks gestational age
• Unit consists of 16 LDRPs, 2 OB ORs, and 6 triage rooms with approximately 1,000 births per year
• Ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
• Must be proficient in EFM interpretation, sterile vaginal exams (SVEs), IV starts, and Magnesium Sulfate management
• Required to titrate drips including Pitocin
• RNs are responsible for reading EFM tracings using the Fetalink system
• CPAP management required; vents will be started and patient transported out
• Charting performed in Cerner PowerChart Maternity
• Hospital laundered scrubs provided
• Pass/fail sterile technique test for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes required on first day of orientation
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (not required to be via AWHONN)
• BSN not required
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a well-equipped Labor and Delivery unit with 16 LDRPs, 2 dedicated OB operating rooms, and 6 triage rooms supporting approximately 1,000 births per year. The unit is staffed with OB Techs, charge nurses, and house supervisors, with OB and neonatology physicians on call around the clock. The facility follows AWHONN staffing guidelines and utilizes Cerner PowerChart Maternity as its electronic health record system.
