Opportunity:

RN - MS-Tele Float

Job Details:

• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• Rare call or standby requirement for low census situations
• Float position covering Zone 4 (based around Garden City, KS) - includes Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital (Ulysses, KS), St. Catherine-Dodge City (Dodge City, KS), and St. Catherine-Garden City (Garden City, KS) within a 60-mile radius
• Schedules released 4-6 weeks in advance; travelers expected to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling
• All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting assignment
• May float into various acuity levels including ICU (low acuity holds within skillset), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
• Float units include General MS-Tele and various specialties: Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Obs
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses including Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology post-surgical, General Surgery, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, and General Medicine
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 based on acuity
• Designated charge nurse on each unit; does not typically take a patient assignment
• Nurse aides available on unit
• Required to titrate Heparin drips
• RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPap on unit
• Charting system: EPIC
• Must have 2 years of MS-Tele experience in the last 3 years
• Prior neuro experience preferred
• Alaris and EPIC experience preferred
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
