Job Details:

• Night shift position in Labor & Delivery
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required with 12 weekend shifts per contract
• Patient ratio of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
• 11-bed/11-room LDRP unit providing couplet care
• Most newborns will room in with parents as part of couplet care model
• Responsible for caring for laboring patients, couplet care, and triage of obstetrical patients
• 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Charting system experience required - Epic
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE
• Required skills include: assisting with vaginal delivery, cesarean section, couplet care, episiotomy/incisional care, infant identification, labor & delivery, LDRP, mother/baby, newborn assessment, newborn hypoglycemia, phototherapy, recovering C-section, thermoregulation, triage of obstetrical patients, breastfeeding/lactation support, and circumcision assessment
• Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• May be expected to float to like units within scope based on facility needs

This facility operates an 11-bed LDRP unit that provides comprehensive labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care. The unit emphasizes family-centered care with a couplet care model where most newborns room in with their parents.
