Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts with various scheduling options: 0700-1900, 0900-2100, 1100-2300, 1500-0300, 1900-0700
• Leadership will create the schedule based on department needs
• Weekend and holiday requirements vary based on department needs
• Must float to OBS unit and Freestanding Creighton ER at least once per week
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC (NRP preferred)
• Driver's license required at submittal
• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% or higher score
• Recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience required
• Must be outside 50-mile radius and not employed with any CommonSpirit facility
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• 1 week onboarding, 2 shifts at Bergan, 1 shift at UC for orientation
• Patient ratios: 1:4 in zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, 1:5 in OBS, 1:1 ICU/Trauma
• RNs must read and interpret their own telemetry strips
• Work in fast-paced, high acuity environment treating trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and stroke patients
• Administer all common drips seen in Level I trauma emergency departments
• Use EPIC charting system
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
Facility:
This healthcare facility operates a Level I Trauma Center that is pediatric certified by the state and designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The emergency department features 20 beds including 5 trauma bays, 10 observation beds, hallway beds, a 6-bed fast track unit, and 3 triage beds. The facility maintains 24/7 in-house security, employs both emergency physicians and mid-level providers, and has dedicated charge nurses on each shift. The department utilizes nurse aids, EMTs, paramedics, and patient sitters to support comprehensive emergency care services.
