Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg/Tele Float Pool

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts, available on both day (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) and night (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) rotations
• Weekend shifts include Saturday and Sunday, on an every-other-weekend rotation
• Holiday rotation shared with permanent staff
• Float pool position covering multiple units including 6N (36 beds), 7N (29 beds), 4N (36 beds), 5S (36 beds), 6S (36 beds), and Critical Care (20 beds)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 on most units for both days and nights, depending on patient acuity
• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips on Philips monitors; most units have monitor techs available
• All travelers must take and pass a cardiac rhythm exam prior to assignment
• Will not be required to titrate drips
• CPAP and BiPap present on units; managed by Respiratory Therapy
• CNAs available on all units
• Charge nurse available on every unit; day charge does not take patients, night charge does take patients
• Charting system: EPIC
• Royal blue scrubs required
• 1-2 shifts of orientation provided with a preceptor
• Report to clinical coordinator's office prior to shift start for unit assignment
• Common patient diagnoses include CHF, cardiac cath, chest pain, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, orthopedic, and oncology
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
• Must submit a copy of an unexpired driver's license with application; 50-mile radius rule applies

This acute care facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering a wide range of medical and surgical services across multiple inpatient units. The facility utilizes EPIC for electronic charting and supports a robust float pool model, allowing nursing staff to gain experience across diverse patient populations. The organization is committed to high-quality patient care and maintains dedicated charge nurses and clinical coordinators to support staff across all units.
