RN - Telemetry

Job Details:

• Night shift position with hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Self-scheduling basis with schedules posted 4 weeks prior to the start of each four-week schedule block
• Requested shifts may be moved to ensure adequate staffing as scheduling is first come, first served
• 3 weekend shifts required per schedule period; night shift weekends are Friday and Saturday
• Holiday rotation required - must work 2 major Winter holidays and 1 major Summer holiday
• Standby shifts are required in accordance with standard staffing expectations
• Travelers float first, typically within service line and overflow areas; will not be floated outside of hired skillset or level of care
• 29-bed unit with all private rooms
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-5:1; nights operate at 4:1 with primary patient care responsibilities
• Nurse aides available on day shift only; nights require primary patient care
• Common patient diagnoses include renal, GI, sepsis, and mental health
• EKG competency and cardiac monitoring experience required; groin management experience required
• RNs are required to interpret rhythm strips and identify rhythm changes using GE Cardiac Monitors (remote monitor techs available)
• Manage drips including Heparin, Lasix, Amiodarone, and Cardizem; no titration required
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7; unit supports up to 6L oxygen, CPAP for non-obstructive sleep apnea only; no high flow or BiPAP on unit
• RNs administer all breathing treatments
• Charge nurse without assignment on both day and night shifts; house supervisors and leader on call available in-house 24/7
• 2 orientation shifts with a preceptor provided
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving offer (maximum 2 attempts)
• Pass/fail simulation lab on day 1 of orientation
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; valid driver's license required at submittal
• Charting system: Cerner
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs, no t-shirts, closed-toe shoes required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), ECG
• BSN not required
