Opportunity:

RRT - ECMO Specialist

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM with occasional day shift coverage as needed
• Work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Will float within scope to meet facility needs as needed
• Schedule requests may be discussed with manager
• Must live more than 100 miles from facility to apply
• Minimum 2 years RRT experience and 1 year ECMO Specialist experience required; first-timers accepted with minimum 1 year ECMO Specialist experience
• Epic/Excellian charting system experience required
• Scrub color: Ceil Blue (provided) or Olive Green (traveler's own)
• Parking is available at a flat rate of $0.55/hour
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, RRT, and State License
• Provide care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Required work setting experience: Adult Critical Care
• Required airway management skills: Endotracheal tube/suctioning, Extubation, Intubation Assist, Nasal airway placement, Nasal airway suctioning, Oral airway placement, Oropharyngeal/suctioning, Pulmonary Hygiene, Sputum specimen collection, and Tracheostomy/suctioning
• Required patient care experience: ARDS, Aspiration, Bronchoscopy, ECMO, Fresh tracheostomy, and Pneumonia
• Required medication administration experience: Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Inhaled Flolan, Inhaled steroids, Mucomyst, Nitric Oxide (INo), Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Tobramycin, and Xopenex
• Required medication delivery system experience: Aerosol set up mask and Aerosol set up trach
• Required nebulizer experience: Cold, Hand held, Heated, Ultrasonic, T-piece, and Trach collar
• Required oxygen therapy experience: Bag and mask, ET Tube, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Portable Oxygen tank, Protocol Driven ECMO, T-Piece, and Trach collar
• Arterial puncture experience required
• Required ventilator management experience: BiPAP, CPAP, Patient Transport (inter-departmental and ambulance transport), SIMV (Synchronized Intermittent Mandatory Ventilation), Troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and Weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Required professional skills: ABG interpretation, Chest Physiotherapy: Vest, Chest Physiotherapy, and Drawing arterial blood gases
• Special procedures include VV ECMO with CardioHelp equipment

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level III Trauma certification. The facility operates 672 staffed beds and provides a comprehensive range of interdisciplinary support services including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary support. The facility utilizes Epic/Excellian for charting and is equipped to handle complex critical care cases including specialized ECMO procedures.
