Opportunity:

Med/Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Weekend requirement every other weekend (night shift includes Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Holiday rotation with regular staff
• Nurse to patient ratio no more than 5:1
• Must have EPIC experience - required
• Strong med/surg background required due to variety of patients
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS for all RNs and LPNs
• ACLS and PALS recommended but not required
• Must submit unexpired copy of driver's license with application
• Floating required - med/surg frequently floats to assist other units
• No call or standby requirements
• No RN titration of drips required
• Care for patients with chest pain, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, orthopedic cases, detox, post-op surgical patients, and pediatric patients
• Unit accepts any patients except laboring mothers and those requiring titrating cardiac or insulin drips
• Work with respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPap, and high flow oxygen
• 3-5 days of unit-specific orientation including policies, medication training, pharmacy and lab training
• Dress code allows any scrub colors except camo or orange
• Manager creates schedule but is open to working with traveler preferences and block scheduling

This acute care facility operates a 32-bed medical/surgical unit that provides comprehensive care for a diverse patient population. The facility utilizes EPIC charting system and maintains modern respiratory therapy equipment and ICU monitoring capabilities. The organization emphasizes quality patient care with structured orientation programs and collaborative scheduling approaches to support both staff and patient needs.
