Opportunity:

RN - ER Holding/Observation

Job Details:

• Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3x12 schedule
• Block scheduling is potentially available but not guaranteed
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Experience with pre-cardiac cath and managing ports required
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Active Kentucky or compact nursing license required at time of submission
• Patient ratio experience of 5-6 patients
• Support ED boarders across the system — patients waiting for an inpatient bed who require inpatient care
• Float potential between Edgewood and Florence campuses as needed, as well as to Observation Units, Med-Surg, and Med-Surg Tele units
• If insufficient boarders are present, float to observation units at Edgewood and Florence campuses
• Key skills required include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), IV insulin protocols, managing cardiac drips (no titration), interpretation of dysrhythmias and ABGs, pre/post cardiac cath, tracheostomy care/management, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Special equipment includes lift equipment, iPad for communication, and pacemaker interrogation devices
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Scrubs must be navy blue with no agency or brand logos
• Dress code: no nose rings or gauged earrings; natural fingernails required for direct patient care staff, nails must be less than 1/4" in length, polish is acceptable
• Only one holiday may be requested as time off
• Any requested time off must be included in the initial submission
• Strict no-call policy in place
