Job Details:

• Day shift position on a neuroscience unit covering neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry patients
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Float between units as needed to meet unit needs
• Block schedules not required
• 48-hour shifts not approved
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• At least 1 year of experience required
• Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH stroke scale and proficiency caring for post-surgical neurology patients and varied neurology diagnoses
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
• Scrub color: Any color for RNs
• Parking is provided at no cost
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years, completed during compliance process and prior to start

Facility:

This is a short-term acute care facility and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation. The facility is a teaching hospital with 629 total staffed beds. The neuroscience unit is a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation, a Spine Center of Excellence with JCAHO designation, and a NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center. The unit operates with a daily census of 48 patients across 48 rooms and 64 beds, with interpretation services available as interdisciplinary support.
