Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks required, with weekends defined as Saturday and Sunday
• Holiday scheduling based on unit coverage needs
• Level 4 NICU unit with 71 beds, including 17 stepdown beds
• Patient ratios: 1:2 ICU, 1:3 Level 2
• Minimum 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience required; busy Level 3 experience will be considered
• Minimum 3 years of total experience required
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Required certification: BLS
• NRP required; Cardiac STABLE certification is a plus
• Scrub color: Navy
• Charting system: Cerner EMR
• Telemetry system: Phillips
• Ventilators managed by Respiratory Therapy
• Neonatologist and midlevels available on-site 24/7
• Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
• NICU Pharmacy available during daytime hours
• 1 PCT per shift available for support
• Floating may be required to Mother Baby and Labor Care units for babies only
• Common diagnoses and patient types include premature infants, cardiac defects, genetic disorders, surgical cases, ECMO, and cooling patients
• Day 1 SIMs Lab required, which is pass/fail and includes Foley catheter insertion with sterile field competency expected
• Floor-specific orientation: 2 to 3 days on the unit
• Hospital cancellation policy: up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks

This acute care facility operates a Level 1 Trauma Center and houses a comprehensive Level 4 NICU with 71 beds, supporting some of the most critically ill neonatal patients. The unit is equipped with advanced technology including Phillips telemetry and Cerner EMR, and is supported by around-the-clock neonatology, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. The facility maintains high clinical standards through rigorous competency validation, including a simulation lab designed to ensure all nursing staff are proficient in critical skills.
