Opportunity:

RN - Telemetry (Night Shift)

Job Details:

• 3 x 12-hour night shifts per week
• Weekend coverage required
• Float required as needed within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
• Patient ratio of 5:1 for nights and weekends
• Caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Majority telemetry unit with possible mixed medical overflow
• Cerner charting system experience required
• 1 year of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Must be available to work every other holiday
• Two supervisor references preferred
• Must be located more than 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (AHA certifications only accepted)
• Active PA or Compact license required
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tubes, CVA management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, cardiac and vasoactive drip management (no titration), pacemaker management, PCA, PICC line management, post cardiac angiogram care, post MI care, post TPA care, pre/post cardiac cath, renal failure, seizure disorder management, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and more
• Possible drips include: Heparin (per protocol), Bumex, Cardizem, Nitro, Amiodarone (per protocol), and Dopamine
• No insulin drips; hypoglycemic/insulin protocols used
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy

Facility:

This healthcare facility is part of a well-established regional health system offering comprehensive inpatient and specialty services. The telemetry unit consists of 32 rooms and 35 beds with a daily census of approximately 30 patients. The unit benefits from robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more, ensuring a collaborative and well-resourced care environment for both staff and patients.
