Opportunity:
RN - MedSurg Peds
Job Details:
• 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with self-scheduling available
• Day shifts with weekends as needed
• First to float to ED/ICU for 1:1s as needed
• No holiday requirement
• Pediatrics experience preferred but not required
• Unit consists of 17 beds - 14 inpatient and 3 observation
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:4, Nights 1:5
• Common diagnoses include UTI, altered mental status, pneumonia, and COPD for adult and pediatric patients
• RNs are not required to titrate drips
• Common drips include electrolytes, hypertensive medications, and diuretics
• Charge nurse is present on each shift and takes an assignment
• Nurse aides available: 2 on days, 1 on nights
• Pediatrician is on call but not in house for pediatric patients
• Occasional BiPap on unit managed primarily by respiratory therapy
• ICU monitors tele and reads strips; MSP nurses apply telemetry to patients
• Charting system: MEDITECH
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Orientation: 1 to 2 twelve-hour shifts (day and/or night as needed)
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS
• Facial hair policy: Clinicians with facial hair must pass a fit test; failure to pass or remove facial hair may result in contract cancellation

This acute care facility is a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) offering inpatient and observation services across a variety of medical conditions. The unit supports both adult and pediatric patient populations and is equipped with telemetry monitoring managed by the ICU team. The facility emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and collaborative care across departments to ensure the best outcomes for their patients.

This position is located in a community setting within the CommonSpirit Health network.
