Opportunity:
RN - CVICU
Job Details:
• 3x12 rotating shifts with various days of the week
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs
• No on-call required
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are based on acuity and vary from 1:2, 1:1 to 2:1
• Float within scope to meet facility needs between like units as needed
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Charting system: Epic (experience preferred)
• Scrub color: Navy
• Required certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS
• Colorado or Compact RN license required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
• Maximum 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract
• RTO is not allowed during the following blackout periods: September 2 – September 12, 2026; October 25 – November 4, 2026; November 22 – December 2, 2026; December 20 – January 3, 2027
• Key skills include: arterial line management, ventilator management, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips, blood product administration, continuous IV sedation, management of dysrhythmias, interpretation of ABGs, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, IABP, Impella, VAD (LVAD/RVAD), ECMO, CABG, TAVR, post cardiac surgery care, and pre/post cardiac cath/intervention
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, phlebotomy, radiology, and rapid response teams
Facility:
This facility operates a 24-bed cardiothoracic ICU that serves as the regional destination for comprehensive circulatory and respiratory support for critically ill adults. The unit specializes in open-heart surgeries, ventricular assist devices, heart and lung transplants, ECMO, aortic aneurysm repair, vascular and thoracic surgeries, and utilizes a wide range of bedside modalities from vasoactive medications to complete cardiopulmonary support. The multidisciplinary team is focused on holistic health, supportive education, and improving patient outcomes.
