Opportunity:

RN - Neuro/Telemetry

Job Details:

• 16-week or 26-week contract available
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Block schedules not required
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Position may float between units to meet unit needs
• 48-hour weeks are approved
• At least 1 year of telemetry experience required
• Neuro experience not required, but must be willing to work on a heavy neuro unit and learn
• Must be comfortable with the NIH stroke scale and proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury care, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
• Scrub color: Any color for RN
• Parking at no cost
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at time of submittal
• Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
• 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Travelers may be expected to float between nearby sister facilities

Facility:

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center as well as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 staffed beds. The facility operates as a teaching hospital and features a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation, a Spine Center of Excellence with JCAHO designation, and a Level 3 Epilepsy Center through NAEC. The neuroscience unit specializes in neurology, neurosurgery, and telemetry patient populations and provides interpretation services as part of its interdisciplinary support.
