Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM; Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Work every other weekend including Saturday and Sunday
• Must work either Christmas or New Year's holiday, rotating into permanent staff holiday schedule
• 28-bed private room stepdown unit
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 (1:6 for MedSurg acuity patients)
• Heavy cardiac patient population including dysrhythmias, CVAs, and patients downgraded from ICU
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips; unit serves as central monitor station for the entire hospital
• Must be able to titrate drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin
• Experience with Bipap, Cpap, and High Flow respiratory support required
• Charting system: EPIC (currently transitioning from Cerner)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Navy blue scrubs required; any jacket worn must also be navy blue
• 2-shift orientation with a preceptor
• May float to ICU in a helping hands capacity
• Client may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week assignment or 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Must submit an unexpired copy of driver's license with all submissions
• Cannot be submitted to more than one position at a time within the WVU system

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 28-bed private stepdown unit with a strong focus on cardiac care. The unit is supported by a hospitalist in-house 24/7, an intensivist available in the ICU seven days a week from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with on-call coverage after hours, and in-house respiratory therapy and pharmacy available around the clock. The unit utilizes telemetry monitoring and serves as the central monitoring station for the entire hospital, reflecting the facility's commitment to comprehensive cardiac care.
