Job Opportunity: RN CVICU (Travel)

Location: Evansville, Indiana
Specialty: Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Job Description

  • Background in Critical Care / Cardiac Critical Care required
  • Experience with open heart recovery and post-cardiac procedure recovery

Required Credentials and Compliance

Certifications

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • NIH Certification (updated yearly for Group A, every 2 years for Groups B-F)

Licenses

  • Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements)

Vaccinations and Health Requirements

  • MMR: Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
  • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted
  • TB Testing: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire
  • Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferred before start, updated annually
  • Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually

Drug Screening

  • 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually or if break in service > 90 days
    (Includes Amphetamines, Cocaine, Marijuana, PCP, Methamphetamine, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Buprenorphine, Methadone, Oxycodone, Morphine, Ecstasy)

Background and Verification

  • Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days prior to start, updated annually or if break in service > 90 days
  • Employment Verification for past 7 years, updated annually or if break in service > 90 days
  • Education Verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start
  • Professional References: At least two qualifying references prior to first assignment

Exams and Competency Checklists

  • Ascension Pharmacology Exam: Minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years
  • Ascension Specialty Exam: Minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years
  • Ascension Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, updated yearly
  • Ascension EKG Exam: Minimum 80% score, updated as per latest edition
  • Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start, updated annually
  • Ascension Color Vision Test: Completed prior to start, updated every 3 years

Additional Requirements

  • Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background (no alterations or filters)
  • Resume/Profile submission required
  • Completion of onboarding education attestation and nursing contract worker onboarding prior to or at start
  • Post-assignment evaluations and exit surveys may be required

This position requires a highly qualified critical care nurse with specialized cardiac ICU experience and full compliance with extensive credentialing, vaccination, and competency requirements.
