Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (Travel)
Location: Austin, Texas
Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Pediatric ICU or Neonatal ICU
- Must hold Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- PALS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program, AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics)
- Current Respiratory Therapist license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment
- Driver’s License/State ID (valid, must match address on file)
Required Onboarding & Testing
- Ascension RT Contract Worker Onboarding Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire training)
- Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% passing score, 2 attempts allowed)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; updated yearly, minimum 80% score)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills; completed within 1 year of start, updated annually)
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Documented proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Tdap: Valid within last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Fit Test: Annual respiratory fit test required (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite)
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
Professional Documentation & Verification
- Resume/Profile submission required
- At least two professional references prior to first assignment
- Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (completed within 30 days prior to assignment, updated annually)
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days prior to start
- Education Verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days prior to start)
- Employment Verification for past 7 years (updated annually)
- Confirmation of Assignment documentation on agency letterhead
Additional Notes
- Respiratory Therapy Contract Worker Form completed onsite by facility
- Some onboarding documents must be uploaded by the agency after completion
- Post-assignment evaluations and exit surveys may be required
