Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Maintain a professional image and excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
• Assess patient needs based on history, observation, physical exam, and diagnostic data.
• Delegate, supervise, and evaluate team members while managing urgent or emergent situations.
• Provide nursing interventions consistent with the Plan of Care and physician’s medical plans.
• Complete Safe Surgery checklist verification using service excellence standards.
• Accurately and timely document all care information.
• Use appropriate health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff, including duties inside or outside the sterile field.
• Prepare the operating room for procedures.
• Position and prepare patients on the operating table.
• Serve as communication liaison to family and operating team members.
• Contribute to efficient daily department performance.
• Participate in assigned call as scheduled.
• Utilize computer programs related to patient care delivery.
• Assist in control and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
• Perform all circulating duties efficiently and quickly.
• Demonstrate professional growth through goal setting and educational participation.
• Perform other position-related duties as assigned.

Required Credentials & Certifications

• BLS (AHA only)
• ACLS (AHA only)
• Nursys License Verification (within 30 days of start)
• Primary Source License/Certificate Verification (state-specific registry)
• Driver’s License/State ID (valid and up to date)
• Social Security Card (copy required)
• Criminal Background Check (county, statewide, national, OIG, EPLS, OFAC, NSOP, SS Trace, education verification; within 60 days of start covering last 7 years)
• Employment Verification (5 years)
• Drug Screen (10 panel, completed within 30 days of start; rapid screen not accepted)
• Skills Checklist (clinical, completed prior to start and updated annually)
• Confirmation of Assignment (standard form required)

Required Immunizations & Health History

• MMR: Proof of 2 immunizations or titer with lab printout (no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B: Proof of 3 vaccinations or titer with lab printout (no declinations accepted)
• Varicella: Proof of 2 immunizations or titer with lab printout (no declinations accepted)
• 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): 1st within 1 year, 2nd within 30 days of start; negative Q-Gold or Tspot acceptable if within 90 days prior to start
• Fit Test: Optional, required for travelers with make/model, completed within a year of start
• Influenza Vaccine: Optional, required September-April; medical/religious exemptions considered case-by-case

Additional Notes

• Must be willing to participate in assigned call schedules.
• Computer skills related to patient care documentation are required.
• Professional growth and continuing education are encouraged.
