Job Opportunity: RN Cath Lab (Interventional RN)
Location: Round Rock, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide patient sedation and monitoring in a multi-modality interventional suite.
- Work schedule: Four 10-hour days per week.
- On-call requirement: 7 days on call per 4-week period, including 1 weekend.
- Call response time: 30 minutes.
- Preferred experience with documentation capabilities using Merge Hemo.
Required Credentials & Certifications
Licenses & Professional Credentials
- Current nursing license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
- License/Certificate primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Valid Driver's License or State ID (not expired, must match address on file).
- Professional resume/profile required.
- At least two professional references prior to first assignment.
Certifications (Must be AHA approved)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Testing & Exams
- Ascension Specialty Exam: Minimum 80% passing score, completed prior to first assignment and updated every 3 years.
- Ascension Core Competencies: Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start and updated yearly with minimum 80% score.
- Ascension EKG Exam: Passing score of at least 80%, two attempts allowed; must be current as of December 1, 2023 edition or later.
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out: Cerner test results and training checklist with signed attestation required.
- Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical specialty checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually.
Onboarding Requirements
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire training).
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite).
- Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules (for non-allied positions).
Health & Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
- Varicella: Documented proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite.
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Required with specific timing prior to start; annual TB questionnaire.
- Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire.
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start and updated annually; includes testing for 12 specified substances.
Background & Verification
- Ascension Criminal Background Check: Includes SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check; completed within 30 days of first assignment and updated annually.
- Ascension EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check: Run within 90 days of start and rerun if break in service > 90 days.
- Ascension Education Verification: Verification of clinical education within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
- Ascension Employment Verification: Third-party verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days.
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updates with extensions.
