Description

CVICU RN Travel Assignment - Santa Cruz, California

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced CVICU Registered Nurse for a travel assignment.
Must have 2+ years of CVICU experience.
Active California RN license required.
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
CCRN and PALS certifications preferred.
Candidate will take a proctored CVICU exam and interview with the manager via Zoom prior to offer.

Unit Details

Specialty: CVICU within a mixed medical-surgical unit.
Unit size: 16 beds.
Average daily providers: 1 cardiothoracic surgeon, 1 CTS PA.
Average daily patients: 1 cardiac surgery patient, 12 general med-surg ICU patients.
Common diagnoses: Mitral/aortic/tricuspid valve replacements, CABG, AAA repair.

Experience & Skills

Recent and proficient in immediate post-op cardiac surgery recovery.
Experience with IABP, CRRT, ECMO preferred but not required.

Work Schedule & Requirements

Shift length: 12 hours.
Weekend requirement: every other weekend (Friday-Sunday).
Holiday shifts required.
Call or standby required.
Floating required; first to float.
Orientation: 3 shifts.
Dress code: navy blue scrubs.
No Medical Assistants or CNAs on unit.

Additional Information

EMR system: Cerner.
COVID vaccine and certification required.
