Job Details

• Start Date: January 5 (Non-negotiable)
• Shift Options: 36 or 48 hours per week
• Floating: May be required to float between units or facilities within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs, patient census, and acuity. Notification will be provided before the scheduled shift if floating is required.

Required Credentials & Compliance

Licenses & Certifications

• Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
• Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• NIH Certification (Group A updated yearly; Group B-F every 2 years)

Testing & Exams (Must be completed prior to start and maintained as required)

• Ascension Medical Surgical Exam (minimum 80%, max 2 attempts, updated every 3 years)
• Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80%, max 2 attempts, updated as per latest edition)
• Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80%, max 2 attempts, updated yearly)
• Ascension Cerner Test-Out (Cerner test results and training checklist with signed attestation)
• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical only; completed within one year of start, updated annually)
• Ascension Unit Specific Checklist (optional for onboarding)

Health & Immunizations

• Influenza Vaccine (required during flu season Oct 1 - Mar 31; exemptions accepted but mask required)
• MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted
• Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
• Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite
• Positive PPD: Negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire (if applicable)
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA: Required with timing as specified; annual TB questionnaire update required
• Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start, updated annually; includes 12 specified substances

Professional Requirements

• Resume/Profile submission required
• Two professional references required prior to first assignment
• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days of assignment; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
• EPLS check within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days
• Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days
• Employment verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
• Confirmation of assignment documentation required upon initial assignment and each extension
• Driver’s License/State ID (valid, not expired, matching address requirements)
• Badge photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations or filters

Onboarding Requirements

• Completion of Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (onsite)
• Completion of Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire training)
• Completion of Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules (for non-allied positions)

Additional Notes

• Floating assignments are based on staffing needs and will be communicated in advance.
• Flu vaccine exemptions require mask-wearing during flu season.
• All required documentation and verifications must be current and compliant prior to assignment start.
• Some credentials and tests require periodic renewal or updates during the contract period.

This position is ideal for experienced Medical/Surgical RNs who are flexible with floating assignments and meet comprehensive credentialing and health requirements.
