Cath Lab Tech Opportunity - Burien, Washington

Position Details

• Specialty: Cath Lab Tech
• Location: Burien, WA (Seattle area)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Four 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• Call Requirement:

  • On call evenings 5:30 PM - 7:00 AM on weekdays
  • One weekend per month from Friday evening to Monday morning
  • Call response time: 30 minutes
• Schedule: Managed by supervisor; flexibility required due to small staff and traveler turnover

Unit Information

• Unit: Cath Lab
• Labs: 1 Cath lab, 1 IR lab, plus admit and recovery areas
• Average Cases: 5-6 cases per day (majority diagnostic and interventional caths)
• Patient Types: Right and left heart caths with or without intervention, PCI; no TAVRs or open heart surgeries
• Team: Typically 4 techs per shift (2 per lab)

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years experience in an interventional cath lab
• Must have circulating skills and some experience with interventional radiology (IR)
• Ability to scrub and monitor cases
• Must be able to float between Cath Lab, GI, and IR pre- and post-care areas

Certifications & Licenses

• Certified Cardiac Interventional Radiologic Technologist (CI) - ARRT or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) via CCI
• Washington State Radiologic Tech License (must provide own radiation badge)
• BLS not required for this position
• RN’s require BLS and ACLS; Techs require RCIS and ARRT

Orientation & Training

• 3-day unit-specific orientation with preceptor
• Epic EMR training required (classes offered twice a month; must attend once early in assignment)
• EMR systems used: EPIC, GE MacLab
