Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech / IR Lab Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years required
• First-timers: Not accepted
• Weekend Work: Required
• On-call: Yes

  • Call schedule: 7-12 days of call in a 6-week period
  • Call hours: Weekdays 5:30 PM – 7:00 AM; Weekends 5:30 PM Friday – 7:00 AM Monday (rotating call team)
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • RCIS with IR Tech experience
• Floating: No floating within or to sister facilities
• Locals Accepted: Yes (same Baltimore, Maryland area)
• Pending State License: Not accepted
• Return to Origin (RTO) Restrictions: 1 request allowed
• Special Requirements: Strong, experienced Cath Lab Tech / IR experience

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

Certifications & Licenses

• ACLS, BLS certifications (AHA, ARC, or DoD approved)
• State License verification (Maryland license or compact state license with proof of residency)
• NURSYS verification as applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification (AHA or APEX) required within first week if not already held
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA form or Core testing)

Background Checks

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks annually
• Maryland CJIS/DSS/FBI fingerprinting required for school placements only

Health & Immunization

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (valid throughout assignment unless gap >30 days)
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific approved mask types)
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (True 2-Step PPD accepted)
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if negative
• Hepatitis B: Proof of vaccination, positive titer, or declination
• Flu vaccine required annually (declinations not accepted)
• COVID-19 vaccine highly encouraged but not required (state immunization registry proof required, CDC cards not accepted)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start

Competency Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
• IR RNs require Moderate Sedation and IR specialty competency testing
• Core HIPAA testing for substitutes

Other

• Proof of 2 clinical references required
• Performance evaluation if worked with the system over 1 year
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units

• Candidate must be able to meet call and weekend requirements
• Strong Cath Lab and IR experience is critical for this role
