Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVICCU RN)
Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICCU)
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7 PM - 7 AM), night shift
- Ratios: 1 nurse to 2 patients
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Rotation: Yes
- On-call: No
- Floating: Yes, must float within scope to like units/sister facilities (agency floats first)
Experience & Licensing Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1 year required (preferably 2 years)
- First-time Travelers: Not accepted
- Licenses: South Carolina RN license or Compact license required before start
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS (AHA or ARC only)
- BLS (AHA or ARC only)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Experience Required: Cardiac and Neuro experience

Background Checks
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Must include: SSN Trace, SC Statewide, National Criminal, Sex Offender Registry, FACIS 3
- International background searches required
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification not required for this facility
Certifications
- ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Certification required (no certs expiring within 30 days of start accepted)
- PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM certifications as required by unit (confirm with team)
- Chemo certification NOT required for this location
- IV Therapy certification required for select LPNs if applicable
- State license verification and NURSYS verification required
- Radiation badge required for certain specialties (not for this RN role)
Health Requirements
- Physical exam (initial and annual) attesting ability to meet job demands
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tdap (within 10 years or declination form)
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold within 90 days)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
- Drug screen: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Flu vaccine required during flu season or medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccine highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Respirator medical clearance required annually for patient-facing staff

- Photo for badge (passport-style, frontal view)
- Signed assignment acknowledgment, code of conduct, confidentiality agreement, HR policy manual, systems user agreement, user access request, job description, HIPAA confidentiality agreement
- Completion of orientation modules prior to start (approx. 4 hours)
- Upload COVID and flu vaccine documentation into facility system

- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations

Additional Notes
- Candidates must have all required licenses and certifications in hand before start
- No local travelers accepted; must be willing to travel
- Facility allows calling off 1 shift every 2 weeks
- Floating to other units as needed is expected
- Orientation modules must be completed before starting; failure to complete results in being sent home
- Flu vaccine deadline is December 5th during flu season; failure to comply results in leave without pay
