Position Details

Job Description
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Continuously monitor and assess critically ill patients using advanced medical equipment (e.g., ventilators, cardiac monitors).
- Administer medications, fluids, and treatments accurately and timely as per physician orders.
- Perform and assist with invasive procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, and arterial blood draws.
- Manage ventilator settings and other life-support equipment.
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergencies.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient status, treatments, and nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
- Follow strict infection control protocols to minimize risk of infection.
- Participate in continuing education and training to maintain clinical skills and stay current with ICU practices.
- Willingness to precept new staff.
Required Credentials and Onboarding Requirements
Licenses and Verification (Required for Submission)
- Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Valid, unexpired Driver's License or State ID matching address on file.
Submission Requirements
- Professional resume/profile.
- At least two professional references.
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days of assignment start.
- Ascension Profile and related professional documentation.
Onboarding Requirements (Must be completed prior to or at start)
- Ascension Color Vision test (updated every 3 years).
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics) with minimum 80% score.
- Ascension CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training), 8-hour course updated every 2 years.
- Ascension EKG Exam with passing score of at least 80%.
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation.
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (done onsite).
- Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules.
- Ascension Badge Photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background).
- Health Statement or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- Ascension Skills Checklist for clinical specialty, updated annually.
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
- Ascension Education Verification relevant to clinical work, completed within 90 days of start.
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment documentation.
- Ascension Employment Verification for past seven years.
- Ascension EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start.
Personal Health History Requirements (Must be completed prior to or at start)
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Recent testing required with annual TB questionnaire.
- Varicella: Documented proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Positive PPD cases require negative chest X-ray within one year and annual TB questionnaire.

- Optional onboarding checklist available for unit-specific requirements.
- Hiring manager evaluations and legal name change documents are optional.
- All documentation must be current and compliant with facility and regulatory standards.
